Board of Directors

PRESIDENT

Heather McCormick

Heather McCormick is a business owner with 27 years of experience, leading a local, family‑owned business alongside her husband and daughter. Built on trust, service, and shared values, the business reflects Heather’s belief that the strongest foundations—both professionally and personally—are rooted in family and community.

Throughout her career, Heather has been driven by a deep passion for helping others grow and succeed. Beyond serving her own clients, she is committed to supporting fellow professionals within the industry, generously sharing knowledge, encouragement, and mentorship to help others confidently build their own paths.

Heather believes true success is not measured by individual achievement, but by the impact made through collaboration, integrity, and lifting others along the way. Her mission is to leave people—and the industry itself—stronger, more confident, and better supported than before.

PAST PRESIDENT

Shannon Huffer

Shannon has been in commercial real estate since 2015. Shannon started in luxury residential real estate, in Austin, TX, in 2005 and learned a lot about short sales after the 2008 crash. She created a blind pool investment trust and flipped homes from 2008 – 2012. After moving back home to Kentucky in 2012, and burnt out with the real estate rollercoaster she decided to pursue her law degree. She graduated Cum Laude and transitioned to the commercial real estate banking industry. Where she worked with developers, counsel, and local governments, across the U.S. to facilitate the banks CRE requirements via LIHTC (Low Income Housing Tax Credit) deals. After some time in banking she moved back into private investments, creating a PPM (Private Placement Memorandum) and putting together one of the first Opportunity Zone Investments, in which she still acts as a partner. Unable to find enough opportunities to keep her occupied she moved back into brokerage, where she worked for CBRE selling hundreds of millions of dollars of LIHTC deals coast to coast. She now runs her own brokerage company focused on helping women find a way to break into commercial real estate.

Shannon is the co-chair of the Affordable Housing Council for CREW network nationwide. She also sits on the Louisville Housing Trust Fund board. In her free time your can find her hanging out with her husband of 20+ years and their two kids, plus their complete menagerie of pets.
